Right after publication of the Artist Edition of The Adventures of Isabella and Nathaniel, in December, 2012, I was able to start donating funds for research to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. I also donated two copies of the book to the Children's Pediatric Library, where Nathaniel was treated. The hospital was most appreciative and delighted with the books. (See the Testimonial Page) Many people who have purchased the book shared it with their friends and colleagues. As a result, many people have expressed interest in supporting this project. but were unable to purchase the Artist Edition for $125.00
In response to the people who were interested in making small donations, I started a Library Project, where people could pool their contributions to purchase a copy of the book, which would then be sent to children's hospitals, and other institutions throughout the country. Small contributions of $10 or $15 would go toward the full price of the book. All contributors will be honored with their names listed on a bookplate in the inside cover of the book, as shown above.
I invited you to become a member of the growing community of people who are now a part of this project. Regardless of the size of your contribution, you will receive acknowledgment for your donation, listing on the bookplate, and I will let you know which children's hospital will receive the book with your name listed.
I have identified the major children's hospitals in the country, in addition to Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Center, that specifically treat neuroblastoma. Many of the children's hospitals have literacy programs, lending libraries, or storytime programs. Most of the books they receive are second hand, so they were excited to hear about our project, and are looking forward to receiving copies of the Artist Edition of The Adventures of Isabella and Nathaniel. Copies of the book are also in Ronald McDonald House in Los Angeles.
Your contributions($10, $15, $20, $25 or more) will make a hospital stay more meaningful for the children, and more funds will be used toward research.
Word of mouth is highly effective as are Face Book, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. that offer a fast and broad means of sharing up to date information and connecting our network of supporters. If you can post something in any community organization newsletter that you are a part of, please take the time to do that. i want to keep building this project, and I need your help.
I have been able to get the Soft Cover Edition printed and replicated in quality, and color for $25.00!
There are no longer any Artist Edition books available, as of September, 2021, the library project has been discontinued.
In addition to the book, cards, at $20.00 for a packet of 6 are available, and framed prints at $30.00 with the image of your choice are available.
The easiest way to pay is with Paypal. You don't need to have an account with them, or if you prefer, you may send me a check. Send me an email to get the mailing address. I prefer not to publish it.
If you'd like to contact me please send an email to j[email protected] or [email protected]
To Everyone who participated in the Library Project, thank you again for your generosity.
